Balmain Commercial in establishing an office on the Gold Coast in 1997 to take advantage of the regions’ high level of property development and proven record of property capital appreciation.
The office opened with George Vazey in September 1997 and after continued growth was joined by partner Noel Pennell in February 1999. Balmain Commercial took up premises at 50 Cavill Ave Surfers Paradise and later that year Heather Munnecke started with the company as office administrator.
Continued growth saw Steve Sing start with Balmain in 2002 and Tony Greenway, James Astill and Hayden Schneider joined during 2005. In 2006 the office was relocated to a more strategic position at Level 4 “HQ @ Robina” 58 Riverwalk Ave Robina and also secured naming rights for this building. Paul Carrigan joined the office in 2006, followed by Dave Farrant in 2007 and Darren Greaves of Scottish Pacific Benchmark, a debtor finance lender owned by Balmain.
The members of the office offer a diverse range of experience in property investment and development funding as well as business financing requirements. George established Balmain’s Gold Coast office in 1997. Since this time the office has grown to a staff of 11 and become arguably the largest commercial mortgage origination company on the Gold Coast. Initially operating from office premises in Surfers Paradise the business moved to the signature commercial office building HQ in Robina in April 2006.
Service and delivery of property funding solutions remains the hallmark of the business.

Noel joined Balmain Gold Coast in 1999 after 28 years in the banking and finance sectors. As a permanent Gold Coast resident for the past 35 years, Noel has a wealth of experience in property finance having seen the Gold Coast grow to its present day major city status. Noel and his fellow director and business partner George Vazey have a diverse range of clients and cater for a wide cross section of industry needs with personalised service standards and optimum outcomes of number one priority.

After attaining degrees in Commerce and Economics at the University of Queensland, Steven joined Balmain’s Gold Coast Office in 2002 as a graduate analyst working with office Directors George Vazey and Noel Pennell. In 2006 Steven became an Office Partner and was joined by Paul Carrigan as an analyst later that year.
Steven sources finance for a diverse range of borrowers and is committed to providing the highest level of service to achieve optimal outcomes for his clients.

Tony joined Balmain Commercial in August 2005, having spent the previous 22 years working for several major banks in a variety of roles.
Tony’s clients at Balmain are a mix of property investors, developers & business owners, and he enjoys being able to offer them a variety of financing solutions from bank and non-bank sources, ensuring that the best “fit” is located for each client and project. Tony also gains a lot of satisfaction working with clients to help them realize their goals, whether this is the successful completion of a property development, restructuring business debt to enable continued business growth, or acquiring another commercial investment property into a growing portfolio.
